Experience the Exhibition

Each month is an in-depth study of an object, art movement, and/or the artistic techniques and processes featured in the collection galleries OR Special Exhibitions. Experience a hands-on immersive art history lesson with the tools and tricks of the trade! Each session features an in-gallery examination of an artwork, followed by an in-studio art project.

Summer Art Camp (1st-3rd)

These half-day or week-long camps, taking place during June, July and August, are tailored to a variety of age groups and feature many different art activities. Children will learn and get inspired by the museum’s collection and create their own masterpieces using 2D and 3D art-making techniques in our studios. Draw from the Collection

Each month is an in-depth study with the objects, ideas, or processes featured in the collection galleries. Each month features a different gallery and a different drawing theme. Guests will create sketch studies of artworks featured in the gallery, then proceed to the studios to do an in-depth examination of the drawing processes and ideas featured for the month. All drawing experience levels welcome!

Tiny Thursdays

Are you a toddler with an awesome parent/grandparent/caregiver who likes to take you to fun, creative weekday programs? Join us on the first and third Thursdays of the month for our popular child and caregiver preschool program, Tiny Thursdays. Ages 3-6 and a caregiver (baby siblings welcome) are invited for story time, a gallery visit and a make-and-take art project. Every month features a different theme, and each week investigates new stories and DAI collection artworks.

ARTventures

Guided by a museum educator, each ARTventure explores the artistic processes of a highlighted artwork in the museum’s collection. Each month is a different experience for the whole family to enjoy! This in-person program is perfect for all ages and all levels of artistic ability. Individual creativity and self-expression is encouraged! Drop-ins welcome.

Create with a Creator

Learn the tools, techniques, and artistic processes from an accomplished artist in their field of expertise! Classes will focus on the specialized mediums and techniques featured in Special Exhibitions, Focus Exhibitions, or artworks in the collection galleries. Gain hands-on experience and a new appreciation for the arts while also watching demonstrations of an artist at work! Ages 16 and up.

Friday FUN Night!
